All School Gathering: Open Space Saturday, May 13th, 9:45am-1:00pm
The Open Space meeting format was developed in recent decades to facilitate planned spontaneity. We will begin with introductions; then invite participants to say what topics they would like to lead or convene a discussion around. All WISR learners and faculty are expected to make every effort to attend! Alumni, Board and friends are welcome. Volunteers are needed to help set up and clean-up. I. INTERDISCIPLINARY SEMINAR
Black Scholars Forum: The Covenant With Black America _e Thursday, May 11, 6:30-8:30pm
_c Vera Labat, MPH, WISR Faculty Facilitator. Please read The Covenant With Black America (Tavis Smiley, ed., 2006, Third World Press) in preparation for discussion at this seminar. We will also watch excerpts of the film, The Century of the Self. The Black Scholars forum intends to build on the experiences and knowledge-base of African Americans within the WISR learning community. WISR learners of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds are welcome to share and add their experiences, insights and questions, for a rich dialogue aimed toward social change and justice that is well-informed and inclusive. Participants are invited to bring finger food snacks to share. _d
Movie Night: Walkout Friday, May 12, 2005, 7:00-9:30pm
Dr. Cynthia Lawrence, WISR Faculty, Facilitator. We will watch Walkout, a film about Chicano High school students in East LA who walked out in protest in 1968, bringing attention to the dehumanizing ways they were being treated. In light of recent walkouts and demonstrations on immigration issues, participants are encouraged to research the pros and cons to help the group reach clarity on this issue.

II. MARRIAGE FAMILY THERAPY (MFT) SEMINARS
These seminars, though designed for students pursuing an MFT license, are open to all students.
MFT Faculty request that nonstudents planning to attend MFT seminars let them know in advance.

This will take the place of the monthly half day seminar for MFTs. See above** for more information. (Ronald Mah''s next seminars will be June 17(***note change from 6/10), 10am-3pm; July 8, 10am-1pm; August 12, 10am-3pm; and September 9, 10am-1pm. Note* Ronald Mah will not conduct a May seminar. MFT students are expected to attend the May 13th All School Gathering in lieu of this seminar.)
Basic Counseling Skills for MFT''s (Continued) Saturday, May 20, 10:00am-3:00pm
Michael McGlathery, MA, MFT, WISR Faculty. This will be the last in a series on counseling skills. We will study and practice skills necessary for becoming a therapist, beginning with the assigned homework. We will do role playing and watch films depicting therapy skills. (Michael McGlathery’s next seminars will be May 20, 10-3pm; June 24; July 22; August 26; & September 30.)
